Greene County resident Gregory Kurzajczyk, age 76, of East Durham, was found guilty of multiple counts of child pornography possession after a three-day jury trial in Albany federal court Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Kurzajczyk was on federal probation for prior child pornography convictions when a routine check of his East Durham home turned up multiple unauthorized computers and devices in February 2022, according to prosecutors.

Police recovered three laptop computers and dozens of other unauthorized devices, many of them hidden under his bed.

Two laptops and two USB drives each contained a “large amount” of illegal images, including images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of young children.

According to prosecutors, Kurzajczyk previously served five years in federal prison for receiving and distributing child pornography.

He had just been released four months prior to his arrest.

In court Wednesday, jurors found him guilty on four counts.

Kurzajczyk faces between 10 and 22 years in prison when he’s sentenced in February 2024.
